David Leich has been working in the power industry for over 30 years following graduating from Birmingham University. He is British and a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. Davidā€™s career includes; nuclear power plant operations and engineering, energy trading, gas turbine maintenance, coal import terminal construction, coal logistics and trading, coal plant; operations, maintenance and engineering and management, M&A, CCGT power plant construction and management.
David has worked in the UK, Kazakhstan, Thailand and Dubai. He has worked for CEGB, National Power, International Power and now Engie.
David moved to Dubai in January 2015, to take up the role of Head of Construction for SAMEA (South Asia, Middle East and Africa), moving to become Chief Technical Officer. From October 2017, David was appointed to be Chief Operating Officer for MESCAT (Middle East, South + Central Asia and Turkey). This includes responsibility for engineering, construction, the management of our O&M companies, technical support to our O&M activities and HSE.
