David founded Fenchurch Law in 2010, and is the current Senior Partner, having previously been the firm’s Managing Partner from 2010 to 2024.
Fenchurch Law was created out of David’s vision to level the playing field between policyholders and their insurers. It was the first firm in the UK to specialise exclusively in representing policyholders in insurance disputes. He guided the firm from a start-up to being top ranked in both of the main legal directories, being twice named UK Insurance Law Firm of the Year, and to launching the firm’s first international offices in APAC and Scandinavia, and its collaboration with leading US policyholder practice Saxe, Doernberger & Vita.
David also leads Fenchurch Law’s International Risks group. His work involves representing policyholders in relation to claims under Construction All Risks, Design & Build Professional Indemnity, Latent Defects and Third Party Liability policies. He regularly deals with disputes involving “damage vs defect” issues, “design vs workmanship” issues, and the proper interpretation of ‘DE’ and ‘LEG’ defects exclusions.
