Philippa has wide-ranging experience managing investigations associated with complex corporate disputes, including in support of contentious insurance matters. These often touch on complex geopolitical issues in the Middle East, on which topic Philippa has acted as an expert witness. Philippa spent more than five years in the Middle East, living in Syria, Tunisia, and the UAE. She previously worked as a journalist based in Dubai covering finance and infrastructure, with a focus on the power and water sectors, in the GCC and wider Middle East, and subsequently covered European infrastructure funds for a publication in London. Philippa has a BA in Modern Languages from Durham University, and an MA in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the School of African and Oriental Studies.
