James joined Marsh Asia as the Marine Hull Leader in 2010. In 2014, James was appointed Energy and Marine Leader Asia-Pacific and was part of the global Energy and Marine executive team, before becoming the Asia Specialties Leader in 2016.
James has 19 years industry experience of which 11 years are with Marsh. Prior to joining Marsh, James worked as a marine broker in London. Subsequently, he moved to be the General Manager of an international broker in Hong Kong, responsible for growing energy and marine related portfolios in Asia. Prior to insurance, James also served 6 years as a British Army Officer in the Royal Armoured Corps.
