Speakers / Nick Ashby
Nick has 30 years of experience within the power and electricity supply industry. He began his engineering career with the Central Electricity Generating Board as a graduate apprentice.
He then spent ten year in various technical operational and maintenance roles in Coal and Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Plants.
In 1998 Nick assumed a position with Powergen International in Hungary, as part of the senior management team of a new build Combined Heat and Power (CHP) power station. Nick had specific responsiblility for the safety and technical training of the local operations staff, together with providing the operational liaison during the plant commissioning.
There then followed a variety of operational and maintenance management roles in CCGT and biomass plants.
Nick joined Hawkins in 2013 and has been involved in investigating power plant and engineering failures.
