Speakers / Michael Henderson
Michael is a Consult Metallurgist and turbine expert with over 25 year’s R&D, industrial and consultation experience. Before joining Eastham Engineering, he worked as a Head of Materials Technology at the Alstom Power Technology Centre in the UK, and was Principal Engineer with Alstom Power Steam Turbines. Before the move to power generation and industrial gas and steam turbines, Michael was Head of Aero Engine Integrity with Her Majesties Defence Evaluation and Research Agency where he worked on the development of advanced materials and life assessment methods for high performance military and civil gas turbines.
As a consultant, Michael has carried out many failure investigations on gas and steam turbines for Insurers and Reinsurers, and provided materials and life management support services to a range of clients within the power generation and petrochemical industries in New Zealand, Australia, South East Asia and South America. Michael has expertise in steam and gas turbine engineering, materials and manufacturing, life assessment and root cause investigation of damage modes and failures in high temperature power generation plant.
